With Open Arms

   If you know me at the most basic level, you know that I’m a hugger. I love hugs. Fact: Studies show that hug are good for your health! You can’t argue with science. So, when we opened the gate to our compound and the Zambian children came running towards me and my team, arms wide open, it was such a beautiful picture to me. I was so excited to hug these children, hold them, and just love on them with then love of Christ. As soon as I was done holding one child, another one was right there to be picked-up next. arrived in africa!

I received a phone call from the Team Leader (Juliette) this morning, letting me know the girls have safely arrived in Zambia. Now they’re on a bus en route to their ministry contact. I’m sure their jet-lagged and sleep-deprived, but feeling more alive than ever… Bring on the next three months!

A Beautiful Moment

Beauty is something God hands out liberally. Beauty is easy to see from many angles, something that brings this unique kind of power with its presence.  At training camp these last four days we talked a lot of about the Holy Spirit. It was amazing to hear stories of Him moving in the people who were sitting in the chairs next to me, sharing meals with me, and sleeping in the same room as me. Bring on the New

Here I am, preparing to head off to training camp tomorrow.  And then Zambia a couple days later. I’m super excited, which is weird for me.  I’m used to being afraid of the “new” in life.  Not eager for it.  But God is doing something new in me this time.  Rather than being afraid of the unknown, I am excited for it.  I find myself expectant of what’s to come with this trip. I am so ready to get started. Ready to meet my team and get to know each of my sisters face to face.  I am ready to venture into the unknown and see...
